Marine Parks
At the end of the 1990s, Brothers Islands, Daedalus reef and the island of Zabargad and the small Rocky Island were declared a Marine Park to protect marine life and a series of regulations directly from the Egyptian Ministry of the Environment. The liveaboards that take place in the Marine Park areas are subject to the payment of an environmental tax. Night diving, snorkeling and fishing are prohibited. In addition, to dive it is mandatory to have an advanced diving license and have a minimum experience of 50 dives.
